The American
Chemical Society (ACS) is an
organization of dedicated chemistry
majors.
A primary goal for the
Student Affiliates of the ACS is to
increase the number of students
pursuing a baccalaureate degree in
chemistry and related fields.
In this organization we
provide community service such as
adopt a highway, and explore careers
in the industry by taking trips to
local companies.
The ACS is committed to
informing students of the benefits
of majoring in chemistry, related
fields, and potentials of the
American Chemical Society.
One of the primary objectives
of this organization is for the club
to increase the efforts in making
chemistry an attractive field for
high school students, incoming
freshman, transfer students, and
those who maybe considering a future
in chemistry by educating them about
the opportunities a chemistry degree
offers.
This will be accomplished by
inviting speakers and providing
poster presentations.
To make this field attractive
to future students we will create a
float during homecoming and be
active in the community and campus
to advertise chemistry at our
university. |
